1. Leaves

   Well, I'm out again tomorrow and dreading the leaves, etc coming through the swim. Not dreading them enough so that I stay at home though :)
   
   The season on the Goyt's been interesting so far with a few fish showing, amongst the smaller ones. I feel certain the recently caught record is going to be usurped before the season closes. Everyone's changing tactics in minutae detail, in order to get the edge - me included, and it's going to pay off for someone.

2. First of season

   Had my first barbel about 3 weeks ago, and my second last week.
   
   Although it's been a predominantly barren opening third of the season, the barbel catching should pick up from now until March. Lost an absolute cracker last week. Over 12lb for sure and on a new swim (for me). Hope to connect with the big girl again soon.

3. No barbel yet

   Had a couple of sessions so far, but only chub to report. The river's looking in fantastic condition I just haven't yet found the fish. Only one barbel (to my knowledge) yet landed this season.

4. New season

   Just wiped down the rods, checked the line and made sure the reels are in good order. Can't wait for June 16th!

5. Fab Fortnight

   Had a great second full season fishing for barbel. Caught my first double, which is also the largest that I know of taken from the Goyt. Not an official record as there were no witnesses. Great to catch her either way. Also caught another double a fortnight later. It was an amazing couple of weeks!
